I have a 2004, Cambiocorsa 4200 with a slight oil leak from the front engine plate. I have been told the cost of replacing the gasket would be prohibitive and to live with it. The level is now on the low mark so I would like to buy a litre of engine oil for a top up. So my question is what oil is considered the best and most appropriate for this car? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Topping up 1 litre makes no difference irrespective of whats in it at the moment.

Porsche changed oil on modern classics like mine from Mobil 0W - 30 to a 5W - 50 grade. Porsche Chester said I should use up my 1 litre top-up of 0W - 30 as there is over 8 litres of oil in the car and 1 litre top-up makes no difference.
