NIT/Arm Rest Part Help Requested

Right. Having driven the cr@p outta my new 4200 over the last few days, time to start working on the niggles.

First up is what I hope is a relatively easy job. The cover section to the arm rest CD player unit is made of cr@ppy plastic and has cracked historically, leaving it wobbling and in apparent danger of cracking further if I use the armrest storage.

It looks like something I can fix myself without all the hassle of sticking it in a garage - indeed I found a great thread in the technical fixes section explains how to dismantle the armrest.

Anyone know what the part numbimage.jpger might be, or where such information can be found, together with a decent parts supplier? Alternatively if anyone knows of a 4200 being broken for parts in central/north London or Herts I could go down that route...

All advice gratefully received.

Look on Eurospres for diagrams from which you might be able to get a part number (and also buy the part)

David Askew does second hand parts so contact him

I think it's part 2 on here:
http://www.eurospares.co.uk/partTable.asp?M=3&Mo=380&A=2&B=20212&S=
You may want David Askew's number ;)

BTW I'll happily recommend David for parts. He's done very well for me so far.

I think you're exactly right! Thank you.

And yes: I suddenly find myself in a whole new world of parts pricing strategies for bits of extruded plastic... I think I shall be giving Mr Askew a call... I also see that Eurospares are breaking a 4200 with fire damage (!?!) so will tickle them up also.

No worries and good luck getting the parts.

If you do buy something off David Askew, please can you let me know...and could I ask a favour? I need an extremely cheap part (plastic cover for a seatbelt nut) that the postage costs does not really warrant.

Cheers

Of course: if he has the widget I'm after I'll ask if he can slip your bit into the package. I see you're not a million miles away..!

Well Mr Askew has got back to me: he's got the part I need in stock and the price is slightly less eyewatering than Eurospares... many thanks for the recommendation, chaps.

Rossyl: I've asked him whether he can slip a plastic cover for a seatbelt nut into the parcel and will let you know what he says.

Next up: a set of spare wheels with winter tyres and a ski rack...

Excellent! Thanks very much.

Clandestine, in Barnet? It's got to be Ravenscroft Park! That said Ye Olde Mitre, or that nice pub near Hadley Green might be better settings!

We should be able to get Dem along, and Chris might be tempted up from Hampsetead.
