My wife had a Cooper way back when they came out....I though it was a great little car that handled like a go cart and proved you don't need massive BHP to have fun. Big smiles ever time I drove it...and back then she sold it for more than she paid for it.

Have to agree Andy , altho never owned a mini , but i have driven quite a few , and yeah go kart like descibes them brilliantly, even some of the original cooper ex works cars , Had the pleasure of knowing John Cooper personally for many years , seeing as i used to date his daughter Sally , used to love his racing tales and stories around the dinner table , he was very much involved with all the big names around the racing scene in the past , he is sorely missed

regards loz

Bloody nora Loz, that is amazing, as woody says, the man is a legend among many petrol heads.

Yeah he was quite a character Adam, and very local to me , he lived in Ferring Sussex, where there still a family owned Garage , think its a honda dealership now , tho they still have an original separate cooper works conversion worshop which as i remember was relocated to Angmerring ,
