Hi All,

A short intro to say "Hi" and introduce myself. Recently bought myself a used Granturismo Sport MC Shift but only recently discovered this forum. Never had a Maserati before so buying and owning one has been a bit of a baptism of fire, but so far so good, a really positive experience.

Previously had a modded Audi TT Mk2 which I drove for 8 years but i eventually got bored of it and I've always wanted to own a Maserati, ever since a friend lent me her 4200 in around 2004-5. I had that car for a week and put a thousand miles on the clock (Whoops!) so I got the bug which never really left me... When the chance arose to buy the GTS, I couldn't hold myself back....

Loving driving the GTS though.... turns heads everywhere it goes, the noise is ridiculous and the V8 burble at low speeds reminds me why I wanted a Maz so much...

I hope to meet a few folks at the upcoming Ace Cafe meet, assuming I can make space in my schedule but I working on getting there and already looking forward to it.

One quick pic of my motor in case you see me out and about.... :) Currently living in Highbury in North London. The pic is from its promo pic from where I bought it (You can see whay I liked it.... :)...)

James

Hi, yes it Nero Carbonio....

The supercar rooms were pretty good. Its basically a warehouse with a lot of top-end motors in it and a sales office. I think thats good, because at least your not paying for the marble floors and gold-plated taps of regular supercar dealers....

They took trade in my heavily modded TT at a trade price and overall, the deal was pretty easy. They were selling the GTS on consignment, which meant they serviced the car (£2k of servicing and parts), because I think they billed that back to the guy they were selling the car for. The dealers words were "I'm not selling you a car that you'll be bringing straight back" so they straightened a few things out for me before I drove it away.

They did say they were going to chase the owner for the 2nd key but I don't think he had it becasue I never got it.... Could do with getting a spare from Maserati but I guess that will cost a bob or two...

Sounds all well and good. Supercar Rooms do look like a nice set up and decent prices too.

Some interior shots would be great and I hope you enjoy :)

If the garage don't have any luck with the spare key from the previous owner, I would press them to get it sorted out for you.
Buying a car for that price from a reputable garage, the least you can expect is a second key I would say

And the tracker key!

Ah yes, It came with one of those! Its in the glove box. I have no idea how to use it :)))

What's the deal with that? Do I need to subscribe to something to get it working? Sorry, I'm a bit wet behind the ears on some of this stuff....

Great car James!

You'll need to contact Vodafone (I think they used to be Cobra??) and they will communicate with the on board tracker, once you've paid your annual fee. Then every time you drive the car, you must take one of the fobs with you - don't keep it in the car once you've parked it.

Welcome James - lovely motor. Big fan of a light interior myself.

Tracker should come with 2 fobs. Given the age of your car it could be a Vodafone Automotive tracker (formerly Cobratrack) +44 (0) 1282 473 732, certainly looks that way given the style of fob. Change the battery CR 2032 and ensure the LED shines every few seconds.

If your insurance company do not insist on the activation of a tracker then think hard about activation. The annual charges ranges from £250 to £300 per year.

Thanks for the advice with the tracker folks...much appreciated. I'll look into it.

Insurance hasn't dictated that it has a tracker so might not be worth the activation fees.... I'll find out....

Lovely car and welcome! When I had a GT, it had the tracker fitted, would have cost £170 to activate for the year. When I spoke to my insurance company (aviva) they didn't understand what a tracker was so wanted to charge me for the my insurance due to me having a 'modification'! So I told them it wasn't activated. Aviva also didn't understand what a car port was... Is it on the drive or in the garage sir? Neither, it is parked in a carport! Enjoy your lovely car :)
