Belated welcome from UlsterScotsLand, on the other side of the North Channel.
Definitely don't be in a rush to buy. Drive a few, so you get the idea of what a good one feels like.
One will come along, that's the right car at the right price.
Don't take anything at face value.
There are literally hundreds of threads here, where prospective owners ask much the same questions.
So, read as many as you can. Until the repetition gets too much. Do not hesitate to ask what may
seem like the silliest question. There's no such thing. As with your question about the black QP.
The answers you receive might save you a few thousand. Either on the purchase price and/or repairs.
Given where you are and how brutal winters are, I'd think about a good quality car cover to protect the
bodywork and maybe getting it undersealed. The guys can advise you. I keep mine in a warehouse,
so am clueless about such things.
I try to get over for the Edinburgh Fringe and if across this summer, I'll give you a shout beforehand.
Stick your first name in your signature (?) if you feel like it, so we can be more sociable.
