What is the best place (i.e. most reasonably priced, and knowledgeable) to get new tyres fitted for a GranTurismo 4.2? I live in Surrey btw. My car has the 20 inch birdcage wheels. I was quoted £290 for a Pirelli 245/30/20 :-o

I would rather NOT have to pay main dealer prices - obviously!

All recommendations of fitters and brand of tyre for that matter, are very welcome.

Speak to Baker Tyres in Egham http://www.eghamtyres.co.uk/About

By far the cheapest place for tyres - have beaten Camskill on many occasions for me and hopefully not too far from you.

Ask for Ian.

Good luck

I thought the 20" tyres were 245/35 20 (for the fronts), not 245/30 20. Also make sure you get the correct load rating (think the load rating for the GT pirelli fronts is 95).

Me too but there are two threads running here. Can Matt merge?

Also to answer the original question, try F1 Autocentres. Got a set of Pirelli MGT fitment rears from them (Enfield branch) for just over £500 recently (including a discount for going through quidco). Just checked on the site and they are £402 for both fronts (not including a quidco discount). Booking through quidco gets you down to £392 for the pair.

The lady from Maranello told me 245/30 20! Unless I wrote it down wrongly of course.....

Just to close off this thread......

I took your advice and went back to Maranello and mentioned that the same tyres were nearly £100 cheaper each at Baker. The service manager at Maranello, who could not have been more helpful anyway, knew all about Baker and matched the price, without any hassle.

So a quick post on here, along with some very welcome advice saved me £200.

Thanks everyone.

Better result, if the service manager had known about Baker, would have been to beat the price *anyway*....
