New QP Diesel as a daily

Ok gents just as an update I drove both the QP and Ghibli at JCT600, both diesel spec as no petrol demonstration vehicles in. To be honest I was disappointed with both, in my opinion QP not at the same level of luxury as the S Class and Ghibli just seemed a bit bland.

As stated both were diesel so maybe a different story with the petrol versions but I was expecting a little more especially from the QP!

Think I will stick with the grancoupe for a little longer.

Yup. I test drove the diesel QP and it was underwhelming.

Hence why I preferred the Ghibli as it was smaller and lighter and was a better drive.

I felt the interior of the Ghibli was fine (for me). I don't particularly like the Mercedes interior. Whilst it is nice I actually feel like I am in a taxi because every time I am in a merc it is a taxi!

I'm no fan of the Mercedes interior. Only S class I've been in was an executive taxi. I had a C class hire car. Hated it apart from the satnav.

Have to say the S-Class in LWB four seat is rather a nice place to be...as my God childs cuddly donkey knows

But in Brabuss spec....now that's another level.

Find Mercs very uncomfortable in the back. Seems crazy, really

Of course a QP will have the prestige feel a Merc will never give you, but maybe as a daily you would want something a little more ordinary to make the weekend maser blasts more special? Also, in may case (living here in the developing world..) I simply can't park the maser anywhere, so it could never be a DD.

I am a total BMW fanboy, so can only suggest trying out a 5 series for a DD. They are still small enough to feel sporty (all models) and have the highest luxury and tech in any car. Mercs have never exited me.

A decent AMG gives much more than the run of the mill models. It is an itch that needs to be scratched if you haven't. The supercharged AMG powerplants are an awesome thing. I've had a couple and highly recommend them.

That's part of the reason I was looking at the QP Diesel and I would keep my V8 GS as the weekend blast. But it just didn't wow me from a luxury point in the same way the Merc did.

Wouldn't look at a 5 series as I have a 6 series now.

Didn't realise the Brabus spec changed the interior as well.

However how does this config work? Surely there is not enough room here if you have the foot support up. Your legs would just hit the front seat?

The QP has a button in the centre rear armrest that pushes the front passenger seat forward all the way. Maybe it does the same in this. Maybe the front seat goes further forward than normal as well when there is no front seat passenger. Gives quite a bit of legroom in a standard QP so I would imagine a LWB would have enough.
