Your right, its the newer cars that really scare me the ones that use black magic to make things work !!

I am by no means a mechanic but on older cars I can work out whats wrong and fix it, I had a Ferrari 308 (1982) with a problem with the throttle but once the body was striped down you could see the problem re-set everything and it was fixed. The Elise is the same a bit of time working out the problem and its all fixable.
The slight worry I have with the Maserati is its new enough that alot of the simple tasks ie: Throttle etc will probably be controled by a computer and sensors which do not work with logic!
Also a slight side issue I have one single garage at home and a slightly larger single garage round the corner, do the 3200's fit in a single garage?

Morning Tony yes they JUST fit into a standard size garageimage.jpg but you need to clear everything out first!!;)

Tony, there's plenty ju-ju in the 4200 :) Having said that, there's also plenty of stuff that can be fixed without anything serious apart form proper investigation and some general tools.

My 4200 has been a bit unloved, but so far I've fixed:
Horns
A/C (those two were only fuses, granted)
Xenon self leveling system
Pollen filter
Wiper motor
Isolated three leaks in the boot.
Determined the fault on the reversing sensors
Fixed the mirrors inability to extend (another fuse)

It's all good, and a lot of thanks to those who have gone before. This is a fantastic resource, to which I try to contribute in my own small way :)

Yes they fit in a single garage, I have 2 single garages like you, one is round the corner. If looking for a 3200 the key electrical gremlins are the throttle (for which there is a contactless fix), and lamda sensors which need changing every few years. For diagnosis your local indie will charge about £50 on an SD2, then you can do the work yourself. Clutches go at roughly 40k intervals £1.5k , disks can be done for about £500 all round using alternative Ferrari parts. I'm sure all this has been written up in other threads. I bought mine without an inspection, no red key, I have since had everything done that needed doing and its been very reliable.

Thats the attitude I like!! Someone mentioned in another thread that the Red key is not essential, also the brakes I had been told by someone recently that the 550 Ferrari ones are a third of the price of the Maserati ones!!

Would like to say its mine but its not....A member lent it to me for a week while he was on hols.........He sold it and it now belongs to Brendan off here....
