Morning All, I have a bodyshop in the North West of England and I'm hoping someone can give us some guidance regarding a 2006 Gransport V8 4.2 we have been storing for a good friend of mine for almost 18 months.
One of the staff rightly/wrongly boost started the car a couple of weeks ago and it had a myriad of lights appear on the dash that weren't there previously. Some were related to it being stood for so long, the ABS sensor on the NSF (which we cured by replacing it), and the other issue being the airbag warning lights, both the main red one and the passenger seat orange one.
Our Snap-On and Autel diags refuse to talk to the SRS system to reset the light, and this is what led me to here. I've seen many many mentions of SD2 software being the only one that will talk to the cars SRS, but trying to find another garage that actually has this is **** near impossible. I spoke to JMH in Cheshire who at first said they could do it, but then changed their mind and said they only had the Ferrari SD2! Is this not the same machine/software?
Really grasping at straws at the moment trying to get this sorted for him, so hoping some kind soul on here can point me in the right direction?

Autoshield in Manchester can sort that for you.

Hi Richard

Regarding the SD2 software you need the correct software package which you pay a licence for in addition to the cost of the machine so lots of garages will only have the software package relevant to the vehicles they service or specialise in.

If the battery was flat and had been for awhile then chances are that it is toast. These cars are very voltage sensitive.

Which autel did you try ? Some versions will tslk to the srs others wont.

If you have not changed the battery yet then i would start there as you can get all sorts of error lights up with a weak battery.

Launch x431 can talk to the srs system.

Where abouts in the Northwest are you ? I'm in Blackburn and have a fully charged spare battery if you need to try one i also have the launch software so if you cant wait for autoshield in the new year then i can probably help if your somewhere near me.

With regards to boosting the cars with a flat battery it can be done but a conventional boost pack is not the way to do it. There is a high risk of spiking one of the onboard computers.

Modern compact boost packs like the top don and noco put a rapid charge into the existing battery to bring them upto 12 plus volts so the risk is much lower.

The second way is by using jump cables to connect to an isolated known good battery which is the method described in the handbook.

Let me know where in the Northwest you are and if i can help i will.

Being a new member you will need to post a few more messages before you can PM me. If need be message admin / mods and they will either pass on my number or vice versa.
