I thought it was about time I uploaded some pics of the car, they were only taken with the camera on my phone so quality may be a bit poor, also the light conditions were not great. The previous owner was a member of this forum so some may recognise the car? It is obviously still early days I am really pleased with it. I picked the car up a couple of weeks ago and after two days of ownership decided to take it on a trip to the Wirral / North Wales, despite being slightly nervous about using the car for such a trip so soon it performed perfectly and was a real pleasure to drive.

There are a few minor things that I want to sort out but was the car that seemed to tick the most boxes of the cars I looked at.

Cheers
Lee

Very nice, piscs are fine. Great when a good drive is incident free. Internet has a lot to answer for, think people drive in trepidation of a breakdown. A lot more reliable than is made out.

Love it especially the boomerangs which look even better on black. I know how hard it is to get good photos of black cars, I was trying myself on the weekend but its hopeless in anything less than dull light.

Thanks for the positive replies!

It is so hard to work out what the truth is when you look on the internet or even just ask questions of people and experts. Not just with these but anything, I took the approach that it was better to be informed of what could happen and therefore go in with eyes wide open regard to potential problems etc. but also know that it is easy to find information about problems or complaints but less so positives - I hope that makes sense?

We were planning a trip down through France to Monaco next year as I have always wanted to take my Capri on such a trip (no rude comments please) but now think it will be a hard choice which to take! One of my concerns before buying the car was the amount of posts I read saying they were difficult to live with / drive in traffic as mine is a manual but after the trip I have no such worries. Maybe that is just because I grew up on moddified fords (rwd escorts & capris) but felt imediately at ease and at home. I guess I just like driving and accept driving style has to be adjusted depending what I am in but to me it just felt fine.

As for the rear boxes the previous owner had them made, they sound quite nice but not over the top when inside the car. I was not originally looking for a black one but saw this and liked it.

Lee,
I used to have a Capri 280 final edition, the brakes were chronic for a fast car, take the Maser..!!

Cheers I may well end up taking the 3200.

The 280 was a nice final edition and I always loved the colour, mine is a modified '76 Mk2 (this car is reasonably well known in Capri / Ford circles) which I have had since 85 it was my parents before that and have known it since new. When it comes to Capris/escorts I like the 4 cyl versions for some reaon, I guess it is just what I grew up with.

I am looking forward to having some fun with the 3200 and doing a few things to it so as I get it just right (for me at least) - don't worry nothing silly I just want everything to work as it should. I have always loved the maserati's and have fancied a 3200 for a while.

Wherever you go in the Maserati, you will get admiring glances and rightly so, enjoy it and keep smiling..!!

I think I still have the route that we took, loads of great back roads, including Napoleon, if you want I will try and send it to you, you can put it directly in to a TomTom.

For the last 3 weeks I have had this feeling of great sorrow and loss. This is of one of the nicest cars I have had the pleasure of owning.

Look after her Lee :)
