Looks great! Lovely interior on your car.

I was going to say I've retrimmed by Granturismo with the faux alcantara and I can't get along with it. Please send pics once yours is done as its on my todo list to get mine retrimmed again.

This is the only pic I have - it looks okay in the pics but I think it’s just because all my other cars have genuine alcantara so I know the difference. Also the colour I used is too dark (jet black) I think with the alcantara the “black” is actually a charcoal colour.

I don’t mean to be a downer but if it’s not too late I would consider buying the material off of eBay and then sending it to the fitters to trim.

Thank you for the pic and your thoughts.
Perhaps the difference between a tan interior and jet black faux alcantara is slightly more obvious than on a black car with black leather and black cloth headliner & pillars.
I’m not too fussy - anything is better than the wrinkled, faded cloth I have now and the headliner touching the heads of both front and rear passengers.
Will be sure to post pics as soon as it’s done.

Retrim finished, I've just got to collect and try and remember how it all goes back together now

Wow looks awesome. Is it the same material as the OEM cloth? Did you do the sun visors too?
I was told that in order to re-trim the visors you have to be prepared to remove/delete the mirrors as it is impossible to go around them.

It is very close to the original in texture and only slightly lighter in colour.
I also considered alcantara with all the hard work done in taking apart but was told the sun visors were a problem.
I don't think it would be an issue with black though so am looking forward to pictures of yours.

Just collected the GT from Vamped Trim.
They’ve done a tremendous job. Personally I think it looks so much better in the flesh than the OEM cloth. Difficult to get accurate pics of black inside a black leather car but I’ve tried. I did not get the sun visors done as that would mean removing the mirrors. However, on a black interior they actually blend in fine and you honestly don’t notice them at all.
Very happy with the result.

I've now refitted the interior and whilst I'm very pleased with the result I do think Vamped trim seem to be exceptional good value with their all inclusive package.

Here is the extent of the strip out required to remove the roof and pillars

And here are the afters

I removed and refitted the interior but paid £400 for a professional to retrim.

Whilst the car was gutted I did take the opportunity to refurb the wheels and bolts myself too and remembered to align the tridents with the valves.

Hi Bebs,

What did Vamp charge you, please? Thx

Thanks, Bebs. That's a good deal. It is worth the 1hr + drive from where I live.
It’s 1 1/2 hours from me so I’d say yes.
I’m sure there are other trimmers around but from my research, not at £660 all incl.
quotes are usually 1k or more + VAT.

aiming to get my car to Vampedtrim buy July for headliner/pillar retrim. they have sent me a sample of the Faux Alcantara.
not having used this type of material before, I feel a bit sceptical that it will close to the feel/look of Alcantara.
any one like to share their thoughts/experience in regards to the Faux material?
cheers
