Now then, after rejecting my shocks, Bilstein have returned them to me cleaned and dismantled with the parts in individual sealed bags! Great service, but I want to make sure that I put them back together right..
Its mostly self explanatory, but there is a large round metal washer and a small rubber washer I am not 100% about where to put in the jigsaw..also wonder about setting the perch height, whether there is anything more scientific than eyeballing a picture of someone else's shock and making mine about the same (from the thread on Bilstein refurbs here )
So, is there a diagram anywhere..? Torque settings for the top and bottom bolts?
Its amazing how small the imperfections were in the piston rods for them to be condemned by the way. From £660 to zero in one scratch.
