I need a new car for work, but I’m not sure that wouldn’t be ruinous on my 70 mile round trip commute....

Very high maintenance car with fuel consumption worse than a Gransport on a daily commute. Mechanically likely to be sound even at that mileage with main dealer servicing history

M5 is pretty bullet-proof. The horror is around cracked sub frames with all that power and torque. The engine and box need servicing to schedule. Short cuts can lead to big bills.

I’d rather an Alpina B5/B5 S. Supercharged V8 and suspension that actually suspends.

I missed out on a D5 Biturbo S Touring last week. I was negotiating when someone else bought it. 2013 F11 shape. They are so rare as tourings that I may not see another for sale for some time to come! Was properly ****** off about it, the never told me anyone else was in for it and i'd been talking to them for a couple of days.

That’s a pretty poor attitude for any business to have, sorry to hear you missed out. The Tourings are rare. There are only 4 E61 B5 in the UK and 1 B5S.

Looks like a lovely car - nice spec. Awesome value for money given the rarity and individuality.
Shame on you Sytner Sheffield!

I concur 100% - here is mine, number 048. I stay under the radar with a 520d badge ;-)
That's very smart and very rare, especially in 520d guise! The problem is finding one when you want one. I think there is 1 B5S touring in rhd so it could be worse I suppose.

Wow - so you have an F360, the Granturismo and an Alpina B5 Touring....

That is a cracking selection! Anything else in the garage?
Yes, a LWB Ford Transit! Bought that to move stuff around during a house renovation we’re in the middle of.

Yeah true not sure how bad the cat c damage if the car has had a paint colour change. Is the SMG really rubbish in reliability?, I heard it has 65 millisecond shifts in s6 mode which sounds very quick.
Loved the SMG on my 2006 M6 back in the day. Set to most aggressive setting, which require traction control off, and it was great. Much misunderstood and mis-communicated overthe years by the media (just like our MC/599 gearboxes?)

Don't run one of these without a Mondial (BMW) warranty. They have a propensity to bankrupt you.....
