That didn't cross my mind, although the OBD identified the issue. I assume this is the same as you mentioned after prolonged motorway miles?
No I'm not aware of having had this result but only have a very cheap obd scanner and doesn't always give me that much info.

I only ever had an occasional CEL after a number of long drives which was something Matt mentioned when I bought from him too. He was of the impression that it was linked to the x-pipe as he couldn't find any other reason and after clearing it would be many hundreds of miles before it would trigger again which was my experience too.

Suggest you try and clear and then see what happens next. Maybe inspect the pipe the others have referred to as an idea but I wasn't aware of any issues beforehand.

The body shop costs seem reasonable, but removing/replacing the bumper is not an easy job so not sure your man has done one before, when Autoshield, who are very experienced, arranged a front end respray on my GS there was, shall we say, quite a lot of swearing going on getting it lined up.
One or two of us live over Chester way BTW so we'll no doubt see you at future events.
Price has been agreed at £2k cash so not horrendous. Price of paint has gone up (as with everything else) 38% or similar. I have a friend who does vinyl wraps but even at cost price it's only masking the issue, plus I'd be concerned about trapped moisture and rust spots longer term

Back from the bodyshop. I believe it took one guy a full day to put the bumpers back on, I still have some jobs to do on the car, a half decent detail at month and I want to pull the interior to do the headlining before autumn. So probably won't see it about until next year now. I was looking at shows in the area and only a couple cropped up, the 'Anything Goes' car show in Malpas on July 14th and there's a 'Real Car Dealers Of Cheshire' that meet up once a month in Knutsford.
