sorry bit slow today I meant in a quattroporte, I never tried in my 3200 but need a more usable "fun" car as just don't use my 3200 as no isofix, I toyed with the idea of retrofit but looks risky. So get rid of the 3200ac and get either quattroporte or m5v10 estate

Never tried, but I'm certain none of my bikes will fit in the boot, even with both wheels off. You can put a bike bag across the rear footwell & seats though...

Ah well Ill still probably plump for a quattroporte and just use the sheds for bikes. I go Scotland mountain biking a bit near peebles and the A roads from moffat are superb and in the past managed to fit a mountain bike and wheels in my old 635csi (the sharknose one). Its just great to combine the great activites

I think it will depend a lot on the forks - a frame alone will fit easily.

I will find a way to make it fit, even if means pulling the forks off. Just need to find one with a larini exhaust already on

Never tried either, the QP's boot is actually quite small. I can tell you that two Bromptons completely fill it. I was thinking of taking the Brompton with me this trip but couldn't afford to lose half the space.

I have a bike rack carrier thing in the garage I keep meaning to try on the QP's boot lid. I really would like to have my road bike with me now in sunny France.

Fitted two town bikes on a universal carrier on my 3200 once. A bit scary but no damage done and it was a 100 mile round trip.

I managed to fit the wheels in the boot and the bike across the back seat but its a lot of hassle

It is... hence the bike bag. That protects the car from damage and makes it a lot easier.
