Anyone off to the Mille Miglia this year???????? I'm driving down to Brescia for the Thursday and going to Bologna for the return.
Fantastic atmosphere and all very Italian. So as not to waste the temporary armcos in Modena thay have road races on the Sunday, how cool is that???????? then off to see the new Enzo building next to his old house. Apparently you can see it from space. You can see my house from space if you know where to look!!!!!!!!!!

Had thought about it, Marios of Autoshield was going to take part, but they messed him about, would have been nice to go and see someone you knew competing.

They come back through Bologna at about 4.30 to 7.30 on the Saturday going around Neptune's Statue in the Piazza. This is a time check point so plenty of time to see the frantic action.

The guys from Emblem were there last year and posted some nice you-tube vids.

Noted lots of AMG Mercs getting into the action...spoilt the days in my opinion, rich yobs making the event cheap.

Totally agree with that. The organisers wern't happy about Merc trying to dominate the event by flooding it with SLRs and the like. They go in via the back door by entering them as 'Support' vehicles. Deckchairs all over again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The powers that be encouraged the Ferrari Tribute race which acts as an envoy to the main event to prevent the Mercs from taking over. I think it will be better this year as many Italians still think the Germans are pushy B.....ds. Can't imagine why???????????????

The start is on Thursday afternoon of the 17th and will return via Bologna on the Saturday afternoon.

I'll take loads of pics and try and get some without my car in the frame but try as I do I find that so difficult.

Just about to order a new GTS Sport with the new snout and latest manual gearbox etc. Any thoughts on whether that is a good idea or not given that Oct 2014 is the scheduled demise of the Granturismo as we know it.

BJL....Order....It looks great and I sure will drive lovely.................Its still two year until the new car so worth doing and it the new cars get Turbo engines then the V8 may be the last great engine. I'm sure I read somewhere that the GT would not be going until 2016...Could be wrong though.

I think you might be right as the Gransport carried on past the coupe plus when they bring out a new model we have to wait at least a year for the hot version.
