Thank you everyone for the advice and tips, particularly Hilts, really kind, and very useful. Ewan, hadn't thought about asking McGrath's, looked on the website but not much there, will call them in a couple of weeks when I get back from hols. Will be interesting to see what the Brooklands car goes for

Saw those on PH...The silver car would be a steal at the guide price...and I like the swan white spyder.

I think prices are low to get people interested, I expect the cars will go for 20%+ over guide price but who knows. I'll report back after viewing them tomorrow.

The merak is a total nail. Rust all over. Doubt it will even run. It's not an SS so not worth the 30k+ fpr restoration.
The Khamsin is structurally sound but needs a respray and new interior. Been unused for 8 years. Bought for 22k in 2007! The white spider is excellent. Body looks like new and interior good if a little dated. Main issue is that doesn't have a real history file.

Ok interesting, so avoid the merak and watch with interest the Khamsin and spyder. It will be interesting to see what the Khamsin goes for as prices have been touted to increase very rapidly this year.

I would love the Spyder!

The Merak is no longer equipped with its original 3.0 litre engine (AM114.50.30). Instead, it has a Maserati C114/1, which is a 2.7 litre made only for the Citroën SM, with 20HP less.

Khamsin went for £115k, looked like 2 dealers bidding head to head so expect to see it tarted up and resold for £170k at JD Classics soon. I had planned to bid but wasn't prepared to go to that level

Yes looks very nice. Went to Mcgrath last week and there were 3 or 4 nice Meraks there along with a ghibli spider worth about 600k and being restored. Apparently a german bought the khamsin which is bizzare given the FX rate and car was R&D.

If anyone is looking seriously for a Merak SS, I may well be able to help. Give me a bell or email if you'd like to know more.

It was a wreck with no paper work.

Just been looking at that Brooklands car again, it does look a nail, but was it that bad in the flesh? Any reason it went for nearly twice low estimate? You could easily sink 25-30 k on it making very expensive for a non SS. Am I missing something?
