Anybody see this on NatGeo tonight about the Panamera? Can't see it will help car sales as they said the bodies are made/painted at the VW van factory and the engines only take 3.5 hours to build. On the production line each worker only has 2mins20secs to add their parts. Big $$$ for something in "hand built" car territory.

But the Maserati bodies are made in Turin, painted at Ferrari I think......as are the engines assembled and tested at Ferrari...

Does it take that long to produce a VW engine...........?

What can you do in 140 secs....just about find my hankie and blow my nose!!!!

Aren't the Maserati/Ferrari bodies made at the Scaglietti works? Yes, only 2mins 20 secs per station yet they want 125k for the car! The AMG mercs were far more handbuilt than these Porsches.

Those programs don't half say some daft stuff eg "the computer uses a different program and screw drivers depending on which of the seven engines it building".

I am hoping this will be on youtube at some point, i have to say having sat in a few Panamera's, they dont feel as good inside as a 911.

Great series Megafacotories, fave episodes are the Grancabrio and the Audi R8, funny how people think the R8 is built like an A4 but a lot of attention to detail is put into that car.

At nearly £120k, there should be an awful lot attention to detail. They still don't float my boat. As for the Panamera; gopping. Can't be bothered watching it.

The Panamera is a horrid looking car Benny thats for sure...When I was at DL on Wednesday saw a few......Just so wrong design wise....But they are selling well so someone must like them...

there was a black Panamera in DL yesterday, poverty spec, had the smallest wheels i have seen for that car, looked terrible.
