Mclaren MP4 12C Spider

I know most would go 458 on here but I like the MP4....Spider looks nice but I think the 458 Spider looks better...They look a bit a like in the design to be honest..

agree with Blox however MP4 hasn't messed up the engine cover like the 458 spider - MP4 still looks nice, shame about the lak of exhaust note

458 for me too. I don't like the humps behind the head rests; makes it look more like a targa from the side. IMO, the lack of exhaust note will, sadly, afflict the similarly configured next generation Maserati engine too.

I'm of the view that buying the Mclaren would be cool....very cool.....but then one day your gonna wake up and think, bugger...should've bought the 458.

As petrol head as I am...I don't get spending that money on a 2 seater, non practical car (Inc 458).

I'd buy a BAC mono and pocket the difference.

Bloke on the Atom forum had MP4... terrible issue with sat nav at it's launch...wasn't operational when he picked his up.

Dunno Ian....am a 458 fan myself......the MP is just a more advanced computer on wheels................or so they say!!!!!

Looks alone the 458 is scandalously pretty!

The 348 is over top styling where as the Mc is a bit understated...You pays your money..........Will say though when the lights went green the 458 would be looking at the back of the Mc from what I've seen in the road test and vids...

See I'm the other way with that one.....After a visit to the factory a few months ago I feel in love with the Spider....after seeing the Coupe and Spider together the SPider looked so much better and I loved the engine cover on the Spider............Have never been a big fan of the Coupe...That changed after the factory visit...The Spider still beats it hands down for me though.

Andy, I've been lucky enough to have been out driving with MacLarens a few times recently and I have to say they do nothing for me. At Dunsfold there were 2 doing laps and they were totally anonymous. When a 458 went past I found myself looking up to see what it was but I cant ever recall actively looking at a Maclaren. If I had to make the choice, there can be only one!

Seen a few in the flesh and I lilke them but can see why some may think its not a very exciting design.......Dan loved the grey one he say at Donington.........He also loved the Evora as well though..............So proud I have a car fanatic as a son...
