Curiously I have a Disney+ subscription that includes National Geographic but it doesn't appear. There seems to be a difference between those that have a 'streamed TV' service (me) and those who watch 'scheduled TV'.

What you're seeing there is your incentive to subscribe to something expensive.

It won't work, is my guess.
