About 67 million Frenchies for a start. ;)

Not a bad start. But unless you're French, speaking French or chatting to native French speaker then you sound like a bit of a pretentious twot, is my point. It always seems a bit weird if someone chucks in a rogue accent partway through a sentence. An American friend of mine lives in Paris, where his children grew up. You'll hear them say (something like), 'Papa, donnez-moi un hart darg, s'il vous plait.'

So I'll be sticking with Maserarti, for now at least. :)

Just looked at the options list. Couldn’t see much point in any of them. You could clearly have a very lovely MC20 for £185k, and a similar but no better one for £40k more.

Is the black roof a cost option I quite liked the look of it on the launch car?

All pie in the Sky really if I had that much cash I’d have a Testarossa

Black roof is an option around £3750 in paint - or more in carbon fibre...

I would need to add the suspension lifter, I struggle to get down my own road in Abarth 595. The Stradale is no joke and as for the Trofeo, I had a dog walker go past me when I last tried it!

But yes, other than that most of the options are not needed really as it's a fairly paired back car and the standard spec is already decent enough

Good point. And I’m quite partial to a heated seat - not that I’d be likely to use an MC20 on a frosty morning!

You say that - and I agree with you - but when my mate ordered his 488 he mentioned they were not that interested in the order unless he had £40-50k of garnish on it.

I’d have thought that the type to buy these won’t be put off by the cost of extras.
Buying a car without all the bells and whistles is likely to make it far less desirable second hand in a sea of those with them, init?
£185k or £220k, pah.

I think you are right. It’s interesting reading comments of those looking at used 458/488 about what options they want and most are about vanity with few views having anything to do with driving.

Pointless extras that only reflect personal visual taste don’t add value to me. In fact, I’d steer clear of a car festooned with pointless carbon bits inside.

Fair enough, I on the other hand would be looking for a second hand one “fully loaded”.
