High praise indeed Woody thank you...considering I had to wear shades to look at yours !! I'm sure I catch u another time. I'm thinking of doing an Ace cafe run... Maybe an impromptu brunch meet, mid event may be worth proposing? Any takers??? :))

Might be worth proposing? I've just done that! :)

I'm keen to do another meet sometime, I enjoyed the Stanford one, sorry I had to leave so early. If there's another AutoItalia or anything, I'd be keen.

I'm up in Northampton again this weekend, I'll keep my eyes peeled!

It's only at £20100 with 3 days left. I am going to backtrack on my initial valuation after looking at prices of others. We all tend to agree that they are very much mileage orientated and it has done 70k miles. If it was an '04 standard car, it'd be about £18500 on eBay. I reckon the Sport GT and the fact that it's an 06 adds circa £4k to the price of a standard one. The service history is also important. If it's up to date, add another £1k ish. This puts the car, if a good one, around £22/23k in my opinion. I'd say £24k is a bit much. Please don't criticise me for valuing a car I've not seen by the way! Trying to figure if it's worth the trek to the delightful town of Dudley to look. If it's going to go for anything over £23k I'm not interested. I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts on value.

Dicky it looks and sounds like a good one, has the requirements to buy it, eg service history, GT etc.....
I would say 24k is still do able but thats it max....if for half the miles they going for 28k then i wouldnt go over 24k

My sentiments exactly Dem. We usually see eye to eye on these matters. Spoke to him today and he offered a buy it now of £24200. I wouldn't at that but if I could get him down £1000-1500 I'd be sorely tempted.

Dicky, if you are seriously interested I'd either visit beforehand or at least get him to email you hi res pictures. Noticed its got a DBW fitted by FD, I wonder if this is Noor's car as he hasn't been on the forum for a while?

Dicky, at 24200 thats not far off I would say...If you can get him down a bit more you could have a great car on your hands if history etc pans out.....................23500 most be a goer... would say the auction isn't going to reach more than 23500 I would say............This is very exciting mate...Hope it works out for you.

Dickey,

I bought a 36k GT for a whiff under 30k in April, I bought on condition after having viewed 3 other cheaper ones.
My view is if the car has had recent clutch, & the brakes & tyres are good, that could more that justify 24k, thats even without the warranty..My only words of caution would be the prospective resale value once it's showing 80-90k, personally I'd rather pay a little more upfront in the knowledge that all the expensive items were covered.
Cheers

Luckily, it does have a full history, the last one being at 67500, I'm going to call the dealership and see what they can tell me about it.

Always a difficult call....lower mileage/dearer/easier to sell on....versus......high/cheaper/harder to sell.......suppose it depends to on how long you're going to keep it and or how many miles you rack up.

But again.....if great service history, impeccable order and life left in clutch/pump and brakes.......then for the price of a BMW 318..... a very nice buy indeed.

I tend to disagree on the easier / harder to sell. I think if it's cheap and it's still got a good history and wants for nothing then it'll sell easily enough. At £23k, it'd sell on eBay. The cheapest of any car are always sought after. If it's low miles and £30k, then there's loads of them around. The low price due to the miles makes it stand out.

Best off luck with the auction... It does sound a well sorted car :)

Cheers, I doubt he'll let the auction run, but I think a deal can be done outside of eBay. Whether or not he'll do a deal at my price is a different matter. He thinks it's worth £24k, I do, but am not willing to pay that for it.

Exactly that, but I'm willing to get very close if the dealership tell me good things. It does have a warranty too.

The warranty isn't a Main Dealer one. It is in excellent condition, a very tidy and well-sorted car. He won't go a penny less than £24500 to end it early. I'll still bid but not more than £23k. Doubt I'll win it at that as he'll either fix it or end it early. Doubt anyone would go above £24k, time will tell.

Think u may be pleasantly suprised, I wouldn't have thought there are many people around able to complete a sale, with funds avaiable.
Is he really gonna pass up a sale for the sake of knocking off a monkey??

:))
