Hi All. Does anyone know how to remover the front grill from a 4200? The one on mine needs either a re chrome or maybe painting black. First thing is to remove. As its an are part to find don't want to damage it or the bumper removing it. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of screws at the top that screw into the bumper and 4 or 5 torpedo connectors that need to be pulled out of the bottom, that is straight towards you. See 'A' on the drawing below107625

Given the age I suspect they will all be very rusty ao use plenty of WD40 first or you will cut your hands to ribbons.

Thanks, yes, it's been in a while since it's been out. I will have a look and see how I get on.

It’s all down to personal choice but imho spraying the grill rim black don’t look good on a Maserati 4200. A re-chrome and a stainless steel mesh from Cabrio-Supplies in Holland looks the testicles.

I painted mine black- it looks the testicles...but I wouldnt do it to a pre-facelift car. What you have is a decent, made of metal, deep rim surround....! Dont spoil it .

The chrome is very very thin on these parts; even a polish will remove it to the brass.

Midlands Palting used to do a excellent job of refinishing these.

It is a personal choice but I do like my black grill.
Shows off the proper chromed trident.
In my case the chrome is good underneath the black plastidip, you could say it is protecting it and can be peeled off at anytime.

Black & blue is great combo....at least you can powder coat the metal. The “metalised” plastic of the facelift grill surround has to be wet painted...and boy does it chip easily once painted. As does the mesh ime.
For me , it’s down to the finish on the rest of the car’s trim...although those grills, if you have to go buy one nos....think of a number, double it, multiply it by three, double it again, and you still get a shock!

Hi All, got the grill out at the weekend. Came out pretty easy after some WD40 sprayed on everything. Cave me chance to give it a good polish up. Still deciding if i should paint black. Or get it re-crhomed. Cheers for the advise on removal.
