Nah, I did the auto at Giallo a few issues back.Silly value! Someone buy it.
Modern Classics reviewed it IIRC.
Ok, that has prompted me to ping them a request to call me in the morning.Nah, I did the auto at Giallo a few issues back.
I live in Peterborough so I occasionally do a wander of the Marshalls lot, mainly because I’m quite, quite sad.
I did have a wander around this one and it did seem to be in fantastic nick inside and out. The blue on blue interior is quite something.

The MOT history suggests the car was off the road from 2014 to 2017. Noting the mileage with a bit of luck that was the dreaded end float prompting an engine rebuild! Bit of a no brainer if that's been addressed.
My understanding, at least from speaking to Matthew at Giallo, is that a rebuild would/should include modified/upgraded part (thrust bearing or whatever it is).If that is the case, what is there to say the float won't go again? All a bit of paranoia

I believe the Shamal can have this problem too, from a half remembered conversation (I wrote a lot more for the Shamal piece than was actually published). That would be good then, although the reasons for failure seem to have been lost in the midst of time, i wasn't aware of an upgraded part, I'm probably wrong but I did read of an attempt to use phosphor bronze that didn't work out too well. Thing is, what changed between the QP and Shamal that makes this 3200 specific or do those models suffer aswell? Thread drift I know.

Ah good, he’s a good chap is Wayne. The white one? That's it, knew it was something like that! Of course Matthew had one in at Giallo (same colour wasn't it too).
Nayf I ended up with the Mx5 from Wayne at SCC.
No the crystal blue Mk2.5 with 9k miles. It didn't make their site just FB.I believe the Shamal can have this problem too, from a half remembered conversation (I wrote a lot more for the Shamal piece than was actually published).

How frustrating. There appears to be service history pretty much annually until the car was taken off the road in 2013/14. In 2017 there is an invoice for engine removal and top end rebuild. So a good buy I would have thought. However, Marshall have told me that because of the cars age they cannot put a warranty on it so cannot sell it to me. I offered to buy it as a trade sale but they advise they can't because I still have statutory rights if the car had issues. Looks like it will be going to auction.
One for Richard or Dan perhaps.
