One of the jobs I plan on doing whilst waiting for the better weather to return is to improve the smoothness of the gear change between 1st and 2nd on my manual transmission. From what I've read the gear linkage needs to adjusted regularly - every 6 months if the car is a daily driver. If anyone has anyone done this job themselves before and has any advice then it would be gratefully recieved?
Also, does anyone know if there are any parts that I should replace at the same time to improve gear shifts? I'm thinking of the clutch pedal bush but is there anything else?
I will of course take plenty of photos of the adjustment process and will put together and post a guide on here for anyone else who wants to attempt this task.
