As those of a manual gearbox persuasion probably know, the gearknob is NLA and second hand ones, when available, are £££.
Mine was looking the worse for wear and letting the interior down so I thought, why not give it a go refurbishing mine.

I bought some thin black leather ( around 0.6mm thick), removed the old leather and had a go.

Think it looks OK.

I've given up looking for a decent used one. Well done looks tidy. How did you improve the worn badge?

Thanks.
Regarding the worn badge. I did the following:
1. Bought correct image file download from etsy for about £2.
2. Opened file in paint to amend colours.
3. Copied and pasted into PowerPoint and experimented with size until I could print an image to fit the original badge.
4. Printed the image onto self adhesive matt film.
5. Flatted back the original badge.
6. Stick on new badge.
7. Multiple coats of laquer.
8. Glue badge back into refurbed gearknob.

Andy.

Superb, It's that level of effort that makes this a great job, mind sharing the image I fancy giving this a go? I can't face seeing mine any longer
