It does seem to be unkind to Maseratis...they make alot "run of the mill" tat look special.
Its a difficult sell for anyone knowing these cars, and for those who know only a certain reputation. With no prior inspection it s a bit of a gamble...but these GS offer a whole lot more car for the money than a Ford or a VW imo...and in mant cases, a Porker too....
Yoi guys talking like £13K was too high..Yeah- I see it noe you put it in context..but to complain about it being too rich @ £16K for a beautifu GS with 25K miles on it is utter pigheadedness in my view....!?!>

Bit firm isn’t it? This line of conversation/argument is as old as the forum. Cars for sale and what they’re worth; without seeing the car, driving it and having it inspected, you can’t ascertain what a car’s value is. The car’s value without any of the aforementioned happening, is bound to be lower to hedge against the risk of buying a car requiring spend. A 2006 Gransport with 25k miles can be worth £12k or £30k or anything in between. Information is key.

I did at least take the time to say that I was able to understand theremarks, once put in the context of ' do I need a third GS"?
But sure...I am a bit saddened to see these cars perform so badly against the rest of the pack/...

I’ve always said it’s crazy how little a good one is worth. It was the statement about ‘complaining about £16k for a GS being too much’ as ‘utter pigheadedness’. It could be suggested valuing a car, without a ppi, a viewing, or roadtest and claiming to be able to accurately value it; were demonstrative of being equally unwilling to listen to other’s opinions.

I hate CC, but they get nice stock so I’m forced to play. I wanted to view this car, I was told by CC no viewing unless I disclose my value or what I am expecting to bid. Had I been to see it I may have bid more or ran a mile. So without a viewing I was bidding more cautiously.

Yes, the platform is flawed but they don’t care about that as they’re making money with zero responsibility. Buyers buy cheaply near the perceived ‘bottom price’ and take a massive punt as they are generally buying unseen; some will be lucky, others not so. Sellers get trade money for their car and have to put together and collate all the information required for a retail advert. This is what leads me to believe that plenty of the cars selling on there may not be of a quality that a dealer could sell as retail sale, remembering the CRA & SOGA stack everything hugely in the consumer’s favour. I do think a lot of people assume values differ greatly depending on where the car is for sale, but they also differ hugely on the quality of said car.
