Just don't get it.
My mates step son has just sold his 90.
Tarted up a bit with the usual LED lights, chequer plate, and knock off Recaro clone seats, but K reg '93, over 100K miles and the dog slow 200 tdi engine. I've been in it and you feel like getting out and pushing it going up a steep hill!
Sold it for £9,250.
He bought it only a few years ago for £5,000.

What do people see in them, they have gone crazy money in the last years, and, many are rotten as **** too if you poke around the chassis!

Yup... I looked into getting one just because I like them and thought it would be good spanner practice, but was quickly disappointed at how much you have to shell out for anything that isn't disintegrating on its axles.

The cult status classic phenomenon at work I guess.

You could say the same about an ancient G Wagon. Spartan, tartan seats! daft money. Maybe they are stockpiling for a time when the roads are littered with bricks and shopping trolleys?

It has to be bubble territory. They are not rare, there are thousands and thousands of them about.
They can look cool but awful to travel any distance in.

An old school friend has also just bought a limited edition
90, 2015, in the last week.
He's paid over 40 grand for it and it only has a 2.2 Ford transit van engine, with a 0-60 time of 16 seconds and top speed of 90 MPH.
He probably spends most of the time on his knees at the extreme blunt end!

There are silly money, as performance is not really an issue here I looked to replace the RR but it would cost me more for something so basic

Certainly wouldn't want one but after 3 Range Rovers I would have another for sure.

My small village has loads of them I absolutely love them.

Although it doesn’t make sense for me to have one unfortunately (I like comfort on longer journeys)

I've had 3 , sold one to a mate for 6k about 4 years ago , he's done about 1000 miles in it but likes tinkering , he'll probably make money on it but as usual I had more than 6k in it by the time I'd added the bling and got it painted stornoway grey

had a couple of 110 9 seater defenders in the past purely for towing, best towing machines, wouldn't own one for daily though unless it's a "twisted" one which look superb but crazy money, I think one of the James Bond movie defenders recently sold for well over 100k if memory serves me right

It was a 1970 Series 2a. Yes, the hinges were replaced with S3 at some stage. I enjoyed it, very cool truck.59988

Anorak mode, SIII door hinges, outer headlights but no external vent in OSF wing
It's got the wrong door hinges but it's not supposed to have a vent on the wing. It's a 2A so no heater intake and late 2A's had the headlights moved to the wings to meet regulations of that day.

I drove one once...and that was enough. Worse car I've ever driven I would say. I get why a farmer wants one for his work but why anyone would want to own one for the road is beyond me.......but hey everyone to their own.

The thing is, generally farmers haven't bought them for years, the Mitsubishi L200 pickup is more popular!
