Crikey Athol, that sounds like a really scary moment, just shelled out a load of spondulas and they you are stuck in a live lane..?? You have to love these traffic planners don't you..??
I have used Pirelli for years and have found them terrific..!! Normally you run them slightly harder than others, as they have a softer wall for comfort, but this is well known and usually advised in the manual..!! If it was running soft it may have overheated, or you have just picked up that elusive screw, or bolt..??
Glad you and the car are undamaged, that is the main thing, a tyre can happen to anyone anytime that's just bad luck..!!
