Looks stunning - well done.
I’ve had my QP since new in 2007, done 85,000 wonderful miles and pampered the car like a child. Can I ask why you repainted? Stone chips? Not possible to have paint correction?
Have been thinking of putting my car through a trusted paint shop to correct where possible and repaint in other areas. My car is a keeper so am tempted.
It has been well used both as a daily driver until just a few years ago and for a number of long distance and some times high speed trips across Europe and the 100,000 miles it has done were beginning to show; the wheel arches were starting to rust and although I had some very expensive body repairs (including paint) at a high quality specialists some years back the blending in of the paint was staring to show and no matter how much I polish I used it just never looked as good as it should or could. The coachworks owner said he could make it look pretty special given a bit of time and what with the current situation and it being the quiet Christmas period he could, if I was prepared to leave it with him for as long as it took, give me a good price as a "Filler" job. I am extremely happy with the results even down to the fact that when he had the door cards out he removed the handle recesses and cleaned off all of the sticky tar like coating that seems to affect a lot of the 3200 plastics. All in all I am very pleased to have it back and he is relieved to have it gone as he said it was a very difficult car to strip down and re assemble. I now have the dash top booked in for a re trim, two new side indicators on order from Eurospares and will be removing the air con condenser for a rebulild the week after next then apart from getting the wheels back to their original colour that's about it.
Welldone for keeping going, does look great in red. 50k sounds bad but over 18yrs including engine rebuild isn’t that bad
It was a brand new "on the crate" full engine from Eurospares at £11,000, which may not seem so much nowadays but back when the engine failed it was a huge amount of money so much so that Lancaster Maserati who fitted the new engine even advised at the time it was probably better to scrap the car but I persevered and here I am, things have come full circle as it is very much back to how I bought it.
