Is this a serious clutch problem

Hi all, been absent for a while; health not good, but living with it.
Having spent the morning giving the car a good valeting (with underbody spray with water), came to drive and found the car's clutch seemed to be slipping and had a warning sound inside - peep, peep, peep.
Managed a few yards in first and in reverse (Cambiocorsa incidentally) and parked up. Switched off and on again and absolutely fine - nothing. So took it for a good run and no problems whatsoever (other than the temptation to overtake everyone and everything). No further signs of problems.

I don't want to involve Emblem if not neccessary, the clutch was 51% at service last year (3000 miles ago). The drive is gravel but flat but not great for the car's transmission.
Should I be worried yet?

Sorry to be blunt after my leave of absence.
Otherwise, since the last series of postings, the car has been a delight.
Glad to say that I have at last racked up the 30K, but that's still pretty low mileage for an '03!

Hi Mark, sorry to hear you aren't 100 percent. Hope it's nothing serious and that recovery is swift.

It may just be that you sprayed water into the clutch inspection hole and the clutch got damp. A quick drive would certainly sort this out.

Regards, Miles.

Thought you had been a little quiet Mark , hope lifes getting tolerable again and health is getting back to some kind of normality

Completely agree with Miles , leaving the cars dormant, dampness/crud can form on the clutch friction material, on first engagement it often will give the impression that its slipping mildly , possibly spiggot bearing will squeal, may even throw a cc light , dont be worried , stop and re-start , possibly do a battery reset , warm her on idle for 10 mins then give the old girl a little bit of a gallop , she'll appreciate it and so will you ,

regards loz

Thanks so much chaps; it almost surely is that.
I was pretty generous with the H2O so thought it may be; did something similar 30 odd years ago to my R18.
The slipping was quite bad but still drove beautifully after that.

Yes, I'm very sorry to have been 'in absentia' , I wish I had more to offer on the technical side but I am a 'techno-virgin' with all things technical and electronic.
Doesn't stop me loving the car though; and lavishing huge amounts of TLC on the exterior and interior.
