Dear Forum Friends,

My 4200 spyder is the garage currently having new discs all round (Ferrari 550) courtesy of the great work the forum does and new pads/shoes plus a bearing!

Whilst taking old pads out on one of the front calipers apparently garage confirm the piston is damaged and cannot be used, but also cannot be replaced on its own and they say i have to order the complete front disc caliper (brembo) that includes the piston of course?

I enclose below a picture of the damaged piston they removed and looking for any great inspiration here to avoid replacing the whole caliper unecessarily! Can I just find the piston somehwere, anywhere?

All help very much welcome.

Thank you again everybody in advance

Yes a few on eBay.
What colour, and is it the left (nearside) or right (offside) you require?

Hi

Eurospares have some 2nd hand ones for around £150 seems to be about the cheapest around at the moment.

Indeed Frank all the same brakes, 3200>4200>GS

Just the handbrake shoes that vary model to model.

I have had brake pistons out and replaced the "O" rings, they are a sod to refit, but they will go in, the trick is to get them in straight. I admit it is probably easier to get a second hand unit..!!

You should not need to, they either work, or fail, there is not really any inbetween..!!
