Cheapest Insurance for my 3200GT ?? I insured this separately from the fleet last year as a Classic Car cost was about £330. As a classic car you are not incurring any no claim bonus, nor do we on our company fleet policy which incidentally to add the Mas on was another £800!! Does anyone recommend any competitive insurers??

Cheers

Afraid you have to trawl all the comparison sites
Start off with Money Saving Expert (Martin Lewis) look under insurance and follow his guide - er for a couple of hours.
Next year the sites have remembered your details so you only need to update
Still a pain though

Try Directline as well. They aren't on comparison websites. I am now with them currently.

Likewise - at the risk of jeapodising my premium next year I'll tell you what they said to me when I questioned their low premium offer for my QP. They said that they have so little data on maserati's as they don't insure many - they have around 20 something at the moment - that they can't do the stats so have to go with the lowest prices!
So please don't tell anyone :)

Probably a message for Matt, but since I've got my Aston my insurance has dropped, yet the policy is much much better.

I am with Locktons who offer Chubb Car Insurance. It is a car club deal.

I think it might be worth looking in to as I was previously paying £1k with the Masser, and not it is just over £800.

I'm in Zone 3 London

Thats fantastic value! Always good to shop around, I change my insurer every year to get a cheaper quote. Think I paid 450 this year, but that included commuting and full comp abroad

The insurance companies defy logic. I'm thinking of buying an Alfa 159, so wondered how much the insurance would be. One site suggested a deal with £250 voluntary excess for £309. I thought I'd see how painful changing to no voluntary excess would be...£306.

thought it couldn't be right, so I entered all the details from the start, it came up with £304 with no excess, £309 with. Wonder if I can get them down to 0 eventually...

At that point I stopped and poured myself a double.

This is common. eg. 'parked on road' is often cheaper than 'parked on carport'. The anomalies are more common if you're over 50 and have an unusual car. It's not worth analysing tiny data cells so it's a 'finger in the air' job. Pricing is often more competition driven than expense/claim costs driven. It's worth you doing a lot of runs whilst you listen to Mad Shadows at high volume. Steve.

I'm with Esure, their renewal quote for me was over £500 so I just cancelled that, started a new policy which came in just under £400... Strange - also parking a car in a garage usually has a higher premium than on the drive (2015*) this is because most vehicles that were stolen last year were taken from garages rather than off the drive, hmm?
