If you are insured with a specialist such as Locktons you can have it repaired by a Maserati approved repairer. If through a volume insurer off comparison sites, you will be directed to their repairer with many hoops to jump through if you don't want to use their volume non-specialist repairer.

I'm with AIB

Off to Maserati bodytechnics in morning for estimate, I've got a headache from google search, seriously hard work trying to find an authorised body shop

Wouldn’t be surprised if insurance industry between themselves tries to write it off. Parts cost, parts delay, then overpriced repair cost. Plus someone will try and make thousands off an ‘equivalent’ hire car by deliberately dragging out repair time. Therefore dont accept one of these, it will guarantee the job is strung out.

Guy at work had a minor bump on rear end of ‘15 plate Audi A5, prob 3k repair max. They dragged it out 60 days, Audi TTS hire car for whole time (what’s that, £200/day?) and bill for repair was 6k. I think it was just a rear bumper and exhaust rear section….

World has gone mad in the car insurance industry. No wonder premiums have gone up so much!! Good luck!

That's something that really needs to be stopped,
if you were paying for the repair personally you'd be happy with a 10 year old fiesta as a courtesy car as long as you were still mobile.

I have a differing view point in that, if you are not at fault, why should you face any additional problems or inconvenience including having a less pleasant hire car. Its not the car but the agents charging vast sums for that car.

My last accident (stopping at a pedestrian crossing and shunted from behind) involved my 2001 MB320 E estate. I was on holiday with my family and 2 dogs and they dropped off a manual Vauxhall Agila, 4 seats and a boot just big enough for a box of matches and manual!

I ended up getting an Omega Estate and billing them for it, and it took months to get the money back, but after that I swore I would just get an agent involved and insisting on like for like.
