Indicators not flashing

Just popped out for some tyres and the indicators are not flashing, just remaining constant orange. Same on the hazards, all indicators just lit constant orange not flashing.
I'll try a battery reset when home, but just looking at the owners handbook on my phone, can't see a relay for the indicators, just a 20 amp fuse number 21.
Normally there is a flashing relay from past car experience.
Any clues?

Had to change my indicator relay recently. Its just above the pedal assembly. It's the same spec. as a BMW ABS relay - noted in the alternative parts list iirc. Picked up a Hella equivalent for approx. £25. Interestingly, the previous owner was charged £150 two years ago for "changing" this relay. Seemingly, an estimated 100K-ish operations is optimistic.

You're welcome. A torch helps :)
As above you're looking for a green relay - from ML:

When refitting it helps to take a photo looking down onto the socket.
To get the pin alignment right - it's a bit fiddly otherwise.

Great.
Where did you get the Hella equivalent, cross reference to 46466571?
The BMW ABS relay I'm thinking of is the same for the early 5 pin F1 pump relay.

Amazon of all places. Ref: HELLA 4DB 006 716-041
Current price is showing as £40 though.
Still a decent saving on OEM.

Another thought, my relay was a slow death working intermittently for a month. Before changing out the relay Marios had suggested looking at the info screen assembly. The hazard switch can caused problems - there are two contact pins which are known to fail. These pins had actually already been looked at - my best guess by the garage that charged £150 for a "new" relay.

It might be worth investigating but the screen disassembly is fairly time consuming. Something to bear in mind though if the relay fix doesn't work.

My hazzards dont work some times . The indicators do. Switch?

I would probably say that is the hazard switch. In my case both the hazards and indicators don't flash just stay illuminated indicating the flasher relay at fault.
I've ordered the Hella relay from Amazon. My local independent motor factor's can only ship one in from Germany, and their cost would be £70, so they said go for the Amazon relay at £41, so I have! Delivery Saturday.

Mine did a similar thing , I reached under the dash and gave it a tap , seemed to solve it for a while .

New relay has been delivered.
I've had a look underneath and can see it per your photo, but it is jammed up above the brake pedal pivot.
How on earth do you grip it to remove it, or do you wedge a wide blade screwdriver and prey it off, gently?!!
What a crazy position for it!

Think, iirc, angling the socket away from that pivot did the trick. Not too much, just enough to allow sufficient grip on the relay to gradually work it out. Also helped refitting the Hella which, again iirc, is marginally taller that the oem.

You will probably need to loosen off the nut that holds the socket post in place. You can see it in the photo.

Done it!
Removed the retaining nut holding the relay in place using a couple of 1/4" extension bars and a 8mm socket.
Could easily change the relay once loose!
Hopefully the German made Hella relay will last longer than the Italian made failed one!
