The manchild got his a few years ago, and ever since has berated me for being a Luddite........

You know......he wasn't far wrong, a bit reluctant to have to learn anything too new.........working with humans sorta puts working with machines in the shade.....only annoying tools to have to engage with occasionally.

So, after some more cajoling and offering his student discount as a lure I bit the bullet and bought an..............

iMAC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about a road to Damascus moment........the difference between my first car Ford Anglia and a brand new QP is utterly gobsmacking !!!!

If anyone is thinking about.....just do it....brill!

Welcome to the family. If you have at least one technical cell in your brain you will be thanking yourself for decades to come.

How was the transition from Windows to Mac, P? A moderately logical step or is it like trying to write with the wrong hand? Eldest son uses an iMac and loves it, I'm confined to PC by work obligations but Wife needs a new laptop and is a self-professed technology luddite AND technophobe. Would a Mac suit her, I wonder...?

We bought an iMac about 18mths ago but to be honest I dont see what all the fuss is about. It does things differently but I dont see much that is better. I do love the high res 27" screen though.
