I thought the programme was inspirational... I'm trying to build up British engineering having got my people to gring manufacturing back from the far east & to see a success story like this is great. I was gobsmacked at the price of the motors as well I'd have thought £2-300k so fair play. I love the attention to detail in everything. That is now an aspirational motor for me!

Hi MS, it was £160k which I think ia amazing for such a precision piece of cutting edge motor you can actually drive and don't have to wrap in cotton wool!

Shame they gave it such a **** name. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Undoubtedly brilliant but all science and engineering and lacking in soul for me. I'd have the 458 or the Stradale or even a Gallardo.

Got a bit of slating in the S Times, apparently if you pressed more than two buttons at once the software wasn't up to it and everything froze.....NOT a great advert for a high tech machine!

Virtually all the reports /reviews have had the 458 coming out on top above the Mclaren as an all round sports/hypercar , im sure thats there is not much in it to us minions , they both have there own followers , but that was Mclarens first main production car at normal supercar prices interesting to see how prices pan out long term in comparison to the depreciation of the Fezza's and Lambo's

Either would probably look just as good on my driveway , and my driving experience /talent is well under the bar of either so the extra tenths saved here and there really bear no consequence to my decision if i had the money , it would be based purely on design looks and whether it fitted like a glove in the drivers position

OOOOH Frank did it come across like that , and there was me trying to be completely unbiased:eek: If i was fortunate enough to have a couplke of Hundred K to spend on a supercar and it had to be one of those two then yes i'd go for the Fezza , but under normal no holes barred choosing i would buy a spyker first then possibly a 575M aswell ...................... mmm dream over

Don't forget the Macs that were tested at launch are very different to the ones they are selling a year later...After the press said it had no passion they went away and put right the areas that needed looking at.......This car came 2nd in EVO car of the year....They said it was a totally different car to the launch car.....

Interesting Andy.......can you cover the main differences or has it just become a supercar by committee?

It was featured in EVO some time ago as they asked EVO to come aloong to the factory......From started with the exhaust and worked their way forward.......Remember thinking not many super markers would do that to their new baby and publish the fact...They listened and acted.....

Gallardo still cuts the mustard for me, i would never get in one and think, oh this feels old etc...... as long as it was lime green i would not care, such a gorgeous looking car that is not over fussy like the ferrari.
