When it is listed on Eurospares new at less than £400....but subject to availability.
Maybe there isn't availability new from the factory?
It is something like this, a little knock to the front bumper and damaged grill, and the car is written off!

You just don't know the market for such things.
To ask such a price, new ones must not be available currently.
Why would you want one? Chances are yours is bent badly, if cosmetic you can get them re-chromed.
If yours is bent, complete with a bent bumper, it will be an accident repair shop seeking the parts unlikely the owner of the car.
The accident repair shop simply passes on the cost to the owner of the car/insurance company.
It is therefore unlikely you have the owner of the car speaking direct to the parts supplier to say 'how much!'
Therefore the parts supplier can see a 'supply and demand' opening, and being a business...

A similar thing happened recently with Triumph Stag front badges with the leaping Stag.
All supply dried up, those with very good badges were getting as much as £500 on ebay, for a badge that when available cost less than a hundred.
Fortunately the tooling fund of the Stag Owners Club managed to get them remade.

The Grill has been discussed before as has been said, they are no longer available, so this could be the last new one available anywhere, the seller is a sponsor on here and is highly respected by those in the know.

Sorry, IMO, being well known or a sponsor does give you carte Blanche to put stupid prices on parts. Indeed, IMO bring a sponsor he should be yes making a profit but supporting the members with fair pricing. That is simply rediculously priced if he has not made an error with pressing the 0 once two many times, I double he bought it for any more than 3 or 4 hundred.

Well, we don't know how much he paid for it, but I do know that forum members would get a good discount. At the end of the day, its worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, especially if it's as rare as hens teeth, would I pay that for it? probably not.

I had to procure a grill and Bumper and these are the prices, insurance companies know the scarcity of the parts and there is no discussion.
