I thought that I had posted this in the general Maserati forum. Did I balls up or is there a fault?

Happy New Year Dicky. More than that BTW.

Leggy 57 plate GranTurismos trading below £30k yet?

We are in a so called recession and most car manufacturers are down a bit, these are classed a Supercars and more, or less £100k+, so the market/sales is comparable to others of that price bracket..!!

Where did you get the numbers from Bob?

I dont trust the data but think its indicative....seems Maserati sales have dropped markedly since 2008 - 723 units, down to less than half in 2012. I find that very surprising....unless its down to the cars owners liking them and them having a better life expectancy.

Got mine off the SMMT website - there is a link to a spreadsheet on the 2012 press release that was out on Monday.

Where is your data from?

Even last year, the UK was only about 7% of Maserati sales. Bound to drop.

On another matter Top Gear magazine has a test of the new QP. That car is white and looks better than the gold car IMHO.

Time will tell.....the extremely optimistic 50K cars per annum by 2015 looks like a pipe dream.............

I don't see. I feel that volume will easily get up to sometime like 20,000 pa on the four car range that we will have sometime in the next two years so that's double the best so far (c2007/08) but more than that will be hard even with a diesel offering. What Maserati forgot is that the diesels that sell are the four cylinder ones. Six pot diesels are rare - just look at the top three German brands.

If you take the size of the markets in USA, China & India, they are massive in comparison to the old UK, so it's not really surprising if our sales figures are lower..??

Not so much that...previously cos sales were so low.....UK was decent percentage........now the far east will take 40-50 % in one foul swoop from a low of a few percent 10 yrs ago
