Ok my baby is going into HR Owen on Monday for the last service under warranty and perhaps I am getting a bit anxious to make sure everything that could be done under warranty is being done.

I am not sure whether it is my imagination but there seems to be a little hesitancy at start up when pressing the start button. There appears to be a dead zone of a couple of seconds before the engine fires. What is more of a worry is that on a couple of occassions it turns over but does not catch. If this happens more than say twice the start button goes completely dead and I have to turn the key to off and start the procedure all over again. Could there be something manifesting. What should I get HR Owen to look at.........perhaps starter motor........perhaps fuel starvation. Seems the ignition is playing up.

Any help would be appreciated.

No doubt UM they will hook it up to the SD2/3 and any deficiencies will be thrown up, could be a whole raft of things, but as long at you mention it, get them to do a full diagnostics check , even if it doesn't show up anything at the time, if it occurs slightly outside the warranty period you can point out that they failed to diagnose it originally!

They are ever so slightly individual, so your combination of probs (or percieved probs...;)....) might only occur in your car!

Yes, frequently for any reason the full ignition sequence aint followed it might not start or turn over esp when cold.

I always turn key, to just before firing, let all the lights go out, then final 1/4 turn.......when cold, when warm, just turn fully and off I go!

We've had some dry days here UM, guys, done a few hundred miles and its SUCH a blast.......................the noise, the sheer ability on our "B" roads, at times breathtaking!

Sounds rather like an earthing problem to me Peter, be as meticulous as ever before taking her in write a Full List of your percieved anxieties , and on collection run through them one by one , you will not be considered a pain to them , rather the opposite a concerned enthusiast , this is where the dealership make their money , so they will not be opposed to changing anything as long as its warranted be as astute as ever
