Help, got a Transmission fluid level is low message

I got the self same "Low transmission fluid" message on my 2006 QP this morning.i'll do a battery reset tomorrow if I get the chance. Otherwise it's Ooff to buy some fluid on Tuesday. Although, there's an Alfa garage just up the road. Is there any particular Alfa fluid I could use? As that's mentioned above and would save me a journey to HR Owen.

I've been thinking about what actually happened this morning. In fact, when I tried a normal start, ie turn to the pre ignition position, wait for the lights to go out and then fire up, she didn't turn over. I tried that a couple of times. When I just fired up the car without waiting for the lights to clear she started and the warning light came on. I switched off immediately.

Maybe the F1 pump is playing up. I don't remember whether I heard it whirring.
