Has the ride improved over the years?

I wondered if any of the improvements that have been made to the suspension and the suspension control in the 2 versions of the 3200GT and then the 4200 and presumably the GS is a distant relative, are retro fit-able. I read with interest one member had fitted 4200 lower wishbones and reckoned they were better? I am wondering if the members have any opinions on whether the ride has improved over the years? and if so what was done to the design to make it better? I have read the early 3200's are known for hard ride but the skyhook suspension was Maserati's first attempt to improve it, what did this change? Just curious and also would be nice to make the old girl a little more friendly to my spine on the odd drain and pothole!

The major difference over the 3200 vs the 4200 that you will never get over is the the 4200 has its gbox at the back and thus has much better weight distribution.

True - a major plus as long as the drive shaft doesn't fail!! do the new models also have the gearbox in the rear?

I'd say it should be less likely to fail as its carrying less torque and it should also be lighter although if it spins too fast it will start to get heavier due to relativity :)

I'm sure the gts has a transaxle gearbox; I doubt any of the autos have but I've never looked so could be wrong on that
