Has anyone here driven the latest Jag XJR? (X351)

I've been reading up on these cars and they seem to tick a lot of boxes for me.

I haven't driven one, but supposedly they are quite light on their feet for a big car and a good steer.

I thought I'd ask people here because being Maserati fans we're all very much like our GT cars which have a bit of soul, which I'm wondering if the XJR has?

Rockets has the XJL supercharged V8 (not sur sit was the the R model, he will be along soon I am sure.

I have only had the standard Diesel models but rate the them very highly.
Surprisingly light footed to vent he all aluminium build.
I imagine an XJR would be an awesome car.

Dean has sold his recently but he certainly rated it very highly and he has had a few very nice cars indeed a bit like most of us over the years.

As Sam and Phil have mentioned I had a 2010 XJL Supersport for a few years up until very recently.

Absolutely loved it and would still have had it if it were an Estate also maybe more cost effective on car tax too.

The age and point in time for me personally seems to have found a decent sweet spot between old and new. That JLR 5.0ltr Supercharged V8 mated to the 6 Speed ZF auto was spot on for me. I'm not a fan of any of the newer gearboxes with more ratios with a drivetrain like this as it is really not required. Makes it worse and less smooth to drive IMHO.

I preferred the understated look of the Supersport over the later XJR's but that was just my personal choice. They are amazing VFM and very reliable with not many inherent design flaws. They drove like a much smaller car and even my wife drove it happily which is rare to find something she is happy to drive as well.

The steering is OK and not it's strongest point but is light and easy to use. The brakes are very good and strong and not expensive to replace. The ride was a
great blend of sporty but comfortable. The interior was a lovely place to be especially the rear of the LWB.

I think the later 2014 on cars or around that time had some small improvements to the infotainment and a more reactive touch screen as the original is fine but slowish. I was fine with it as not a 10yo rapidly flipping around the screens but it is better by all accounts.

It is not a heavy car for its size and fuel economy was by far the best I've had for a car of this size/class.

It was a pleasure to own and I do miss it but it just didn't fit into what we need a couple of cars for now. Times are tight, I've made some truly shocking investments and I need to sell off a few cars to pay down some of the mortgage and position ourselves better for some tough times ahead.

Any questions just let me know.

I have had a QPV as well a d loved that too. Been close a few times to getting another.

I got the XJL SS over a QPV as they just offered so much better VFM for my desires. They are quite different cars. Maybe a QPV is worth a look too if you are looking at XJR's.
