Has anyone else been tracking this QP Mk1?

I've been stalking this online for the last year or more, it was for sale at Mcgrath for a while and now at Justin Banks.

Not on the market now I have bought the GS but when I rang up about 8 months ago it seemed like £30k would buy it.

God knows what needs spending on it, but I have such a soft spot for the QP1, I love the Frua design...

What am i not seeing here ?

Interior is good, exterior presents well, i imagine most 55 year old cars could do with some work, and it starts and drives.

It is not perfect but does look a nice useable car

Is it just not a popular model ??

It’s got 2 too many doors. Same as Lagondas. You could easily loose 100k sorting it and end up with a car worth 50k

And it’s red. Red is great if you resemble Donald Trump and you’re outside a Las Vegas casino but it’s not really Sofia Loren in Lake Como.

Never been a fan of the early QPs although stylish they always look a bit clumsy where as the IV, IMO, just looks great from most angles even if build quality wasn't great.

Seems I'm in the minority here for liking the QP1 :)

I think this car is one of those rare inbetween ones; not a barn find resto, and not a fully restored one for £80k plus. Danger awaits?

I bet it hides a lot of work, it was a tempting project but the thought of tackling the bodywork is a bit much, bet you could spend untold sums.

Red was not it's original colour, silver to gold to red supposedly.

I seem to like any of the Frua designs such as the Mistal and the AC 427.

I saw a silver Quattroporte at the Enzo Ferrari museum in Modena, loved it in the flesh.

I'm with you... I love it. I'd prefer dark blue or something, but I still think it's fabulous.
