Dunno
but
in a Special Edition of Auto Express (not one I usually read) there is an article on future classics.
On page 65 we have a 4 out of 5 star rating (rarity) for the Quattroporte 2002 - 2012.
It is seen as a 'Strong Investment'

I suspect that the business plan is so far entrenched now that he won't be able to do anything much about it without significant further delay and investment.

Has anyone put down deposits for the Alfieri? Do Maserati do such things?

I can't see it happening, and if it did they have completely missed the moment.

Why so? If they were to confirm details and commit to a delivery date in 2021-22, do you not think there would be takers willing to put down a deposit to guarantee being one of the first?

It would depend on what it was, a Halo car yes, but I really can't see that happening. They seem to have there business plan worked out, and are making money, so what would it bring in? a few customers, but entice others to the brand I doubt. Hopefully I am proved wrong though :)

And it would have a small Euro 7 Fiat/ Marelli electrically powered hybrid power train, no more V8's!

2022 for the pure Electric version. I’d expect the hybrid before that. 2020 or so.

The Alfieri is boring me now. When was it first shown...years ago and there is another potential 4 year wait. I agree with the thread above a missed opportunity to bring some sparkle back to the brand. The car that comes out in 4 years time will be a very different car to what we thought it was going to be and to be. 4 years is a long time to have to rely on the current models with no sign of GT replacement or sports car on the horizon.
