Of course it is jacekzaku.......IF you like it then do it.......I think it looks OK to be honest....Just not sure I would change a GS as for me the front is pretty much perfect...

That's the great thing about the mods... drop in or not- we have a choice...;-)
From the day I got mine I wanted the traditional M-car vertical concave bar grille. The chrome mesh did not do it for me. It reminded me the early 2000 trend in British cars- Jaguars and Bentleys. To me it was one of the passing trends.... I even got some stainless mesh and put it into oil cooler opening in the early 911 RS clone I built-- but that was in the '90s
I mused with sketches and photo shop. My first thought was go after the latest "6 broken vertical bar" grille design(Levante, Alfieri). Now after it was smashed in the poll on the ML forum I am back to the GT style ;-)

3200 & 4200 grilles are two very different parts, I think everyone on here and maseratilife are looking for indicative costs, we may have deep pockets but none of us like being taken 4 a ride, that fortunately 4 me is the power of the Internet !

Yes I'm looking for the cost myself- don't like to be taken for a ride either ;-) I like to think that I'm prudent with this passion of mine and keep sane with the budget. The fact that 16 others will think the same way is the best "sanity check" for me.
FYI I'm not making it I just have been thinking about it and started talking to the local fabricator a while back.
The member of ML that actually did it motivated me to organize this GB. It looks really good IMO and if we make 20 or so it will bring the cost down considerably. That's my thinking....

As with Amyzoe, I'd be interested depending on cost. My Spyder came with an aftermarket front and rear bumper set, which I'd like to replace with a FL / GS set. Thus would need a need a new grill anyway.

If GS front bumper accepts 4200 OEM grille we can certainly accommodate you. I'm not sure they do. The GS bumper I know about takes the OEM GT grille....

I think it looks good, and suits the big mouth GranSport and Facelift 4200's, but I feel for the earlier 4200's with the shallower mouth, maybe not.
Happy currently with my shallower mouth 'blacked out' look.

It looks great as it is. Or is this a case of "I want a GT" syndrome. Be proud of what you have.
If they made a 2 seater GT Spyder with F1 gearbox I would want one ;-)
The vertical concave bar grill is a Maserati signature- that's why I want one. I think Maserati needed something a bit different in the early 2000 and they chose to got with the chrome mesh of the Jaguar XJRs and Bentley GTs from that period. They went back to the design roots with the GT. The GT style grill really is a timeless Maserati favorite.... IMO

Jacek,

Does the new vertical grille use the Trident from the original?

Agree the mesh looks like something from the screen department of Home Depot (or UK equiv.).

Would have to agree with Mike...You would need the bigger face lift grill or GS to make it work......
