I bought an OBD2 fault code reader and that shows the error I'm getting is P0128 Coolant temp below thermostat regulating temp. Done a few searches and this typically points towards a dodgy thermostat but will wait and see what Migiliore say

Only just noticed this, Burntwood between Cannock and Lichfield? would be great to have someone so local that can help look after the car

Just spoke to Gary at GT Autos, just like the guys a Migiliore he knew exactly what the problem was, he was really helpful and being as he's so local to me i'll take the car in to him. i've done a google search on GT autos and they get some very favourable reviews from Ferrari owners

he said he used to work with the guys from Migiliore when they were at Evans Halshaw and Stratstones

Feel a bit bad cancelling with Migiliore but it would have been a right hassle me getting the car over to them and picking it up

Thanks Jetgta :)

I had this fault code and replaced the sensor which was good for a week or 2 but the P0128 came back. I also have similar issue when starting after filling up, for me I noticed if the car battery is not full charged I get the issue, which shows P0128 - reset the code and the car starts fine. if the battery is fully charged its fine and I don't get the non start issue after filling up

so would also be interested in your results from Gary (GT Autos) - Burntwood only an hour away so would also be interested in booking the car in

I've noticed as I've used the car more it hasn't suffered with the issue so much, maybe due to battery having better charge?

Had the temp sensor replaced (part 000180137) and it now seems to be ok but I'm hoping it doesn't come back in a few weeks like what happened to EnzoMC

Gary at GT Autos is a great guy, real enthusiast and will definitely be the man I have to look after the car

this is what I had replaced - M000180137 Water Temp sensor - £17.89 would be interesting to see you still don't get the issue after the cars been left standing for few days

Same part then so a good chance the fault could return, what voltage does your battery meter typically read?

maybe not could be I have faulty sensor still - how much did he charge to fit, mine was about hour and half labour

after a week I think its down to about 11v 60-70% charge, I need to charge again today so will check

Think with the VAT it was about £80 for the part and labour, I use my car almost daily so it seems to only ever drop to a bit below the middle, maybe 12-13, I'm considering a new battery

checked and it was just above 11v, the charger shows low on the display but within a minute it showed 60% - my issue could be low charge but strange that this sensor is the one to complain ?

let me know how you get on after a few weeks

Error light came back on today, not even from a hot start, used the OBD reader and it was the usual "P0128 coolant temp below thermostat regulating temp", the saga continues and seems Friday was a waste of £80, could've spent that on a luxury garden ornament or one of those caps with a propeller on, never mind

I've ordered a new battery (not that I expect it to help with this) went for a Bosch S5 which came in at £90 delivered from ECP with 25% discount code UKPAS25

EnzoMC did you change your thermostat or just the sensor? i've been doing some searching on the net and there seems to be a few threads on maserati life where they've had the exact same symptoms and fixed it by replacing the thermostat so i think that will be my next thing to do

seems difficult to source the part in the UK though

interesting, checked and mine had been replaced in its service history but this was a while ago - I'm due a service soon so will also look to get the thermostat replaced - hopefully its not an expensive fit

I've had 2 garages look at this issue and one could not find any problems (that helped) and the other as you did replaced the sensor

car was fully charged, took it to the garage for a fill up, had a car behind me waiting and I did the normal.... not now....please start...and it did :)

I've ordered a thermostat from eurospares for about £65 inc VAT as after going through previous invoices it looks like about the only relevant part that hasn't been replaced trying to fix the issue
