Been fitting a new pedal pot and all seems fine, however for some reason my brake lights are now jammed on. I don’t know if I’ve accidentally done something whist in the footwell, could it be the brake pedal just needs adjusted or something else?

I suspect the brake switch is jammed in or out... get some WD40 on it and check the plunger is being moved by the pedal.

Remember that the CC system uses the same signal to operate properly.

I was wondering what that switch was, what’s the purpose of that? I’ll have a look tomorrow and see if it’s pressed in. Cheers

Unplug your brake switch. Switch the battery off and plug the switch back in. Check the plunger is working when the pedal is pressed if it is turn your battery back on and hopefully that will cure the issue. If not then either you have caught a wire for the brake switch or the switch itself is fubar. Cheap part so no the end of the world.

If you can start your car without your foot on the brake pedal then your brake switch is jammed in the on position.

tried as you described and ended up ordering a new switch, hopefully that solves it
