A friend of mine swears by Meguiars 3 stage polish on his cars so I decided to give it a go as the weather was so nice this afternoon. Broke out the cheapy Halfords machine polisher and spent 2 hours with a couple light beverages in the sun machining away. Now whilst I don't pretend it's anywhere near what a professional detailer can perform I have to say I'm blown away by the results.. I don't think the photo really does the end result justice.. but it's rather gorgeous!

Now watch it rain :)

Zombie,

Yes, I probably shouldn't have done it in the direct sun light.. but it was starting to set behind the house.. and when do we ever get exactly the right weather conditions when we're not at work or busy? The Meguiars went on easily and came off without a fuss even in the sun light, so happy days..

Interestingly the first chemical used is the "Paint Cleaner" to remove grime and swirl marks, this really made the metallic flakes stand out and sparkle. Adding the polish and wax layers removed this sparkle but gave it the deep glossy look. Now being awkward it would be nice if I could get both effects!.. :)

Cheers

Mark
