Granturismo Rear Parcel Shelf Removal

As per title I need to remove mine to fix a deeply annoying rattle from the left hand side of it. Something is very loose under there and big bumps or loud stereo triggers the know i and after some tapping around something is clearly loose that shouldn’t be. I need to get under that shelf but no idea how. I’ve found the child seat anchor points under the flap but removing those bolts doesn’t seem to do anything at all. Can you help?

Just got to that bit. Italian build quality. The left hand speaker had 3 (yes 3) of the bolts that hold it on totally loose. 2 of the 3 bolts were barely hanging on by one screw thread. The RHS speaker was better but not as tight as they should be. Explains both the rattle over bumps and the rattle whenever I turned up the stereo. The washers between the nuts were bouncing around like symbols. All back together now save the centre arm rest housing which only had 3 of the 4 clips fitted (more exceptional attention to detail). I checked to make sure I didn’t break or drop one but it’s not there so ordering a new set to ensure they are tip top (£7 from eurospares and in stock). I’m pretty sure no one has been in there before me as it’s a 2019 car with low miles.

I’m glad I took on the job as a few more miles and those nuts would have worked their way off altogether and headed off to god knows where to be heard but never seen again. As an aside the quality of the Harmon Kardon speakers and subwoofer was a bit of a shock. Cheap doesn’t begin to describe it.

Well done! Satisfying to do those bits yourself.
Yes even the Harmon Kardon OEM stuff is pants sadly. That’s why I got Audiofile-Incar to fit Audison Prima door speakers to mine, on custom made baffles and absolutely stuff the doors with Dynamat sound deadening material.
What a difference!

Yes super satisfying. That rattle was a killer as the rest of the car is so tight but a relief to find a 100% cause and be able to fix it myself. Felt super brave to take the backrest out but it’s actually simple (1 nut and 2 bolts). Of course I only came across this after I removed it based on a youtube video that wasn’t as good as Matt’s instructions!

And definitely thinking about a speaker upgrade at least
